Spiritual gifts are a controversial and a sensitive topic, because sincere Christians disagree. In this sermon on 1 Corinthians 14:1-5, Alex lays out a clear case from 1 Corinthians and the New Testament for why God used “charismatic” Spiritual Gifts within the early church, but does not typically use them today.
At the same time, Paul was writing to people who were self-obsessed and Paul was warning them that “love is not self-seeking” and a lack of love makes nonsense of the gifts.
